(1.96 m) Serbian Nikola Karabatic is a French team handball player. I have no idea
what "team handball" is but whatever keeps his body in such great shape
is fine by me! He was born in 1984 to a Croatian father and Serbian mom.
According
to Wikipedia "He participated on the French national handball team that received
bronze medals at the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship. He was top scorer
at the championship together with Ivano Balić and Lars Christiansen, and was
voted as Most Valuable Player at the championship. Despite his young age, he is
considered to be one of the best and most complete handball player of the world
(Summer 2008). He also won the gold medal with France at the 2008 Summer Olympics
in Beijing, beating Iceland 28-23. He scored 8 goals.
His face is very rugged
but not "pretty." You might think that if he ever tried acting they
would say he is not handsome enough. But, in reality, being too good looking in
Hollywood is a problem. You don't get as many roles. Nikola could be made up to
look handsomer but he could also be made up to look thuggish and scary. That means
if he ever tried acting he'd be able to audition for more roles than the "basketball
star" or the "hero's handsome enemy.
His website is very professional
and is written in French and English. Unbelievably, some professional athletes in
America have no website at all. He is "just" a handball player but he
certainly knows what he is doing with self promotion compared to a lot of US pro
