6'5" Armie
Hammer played the Winklevoss
twins in the movie "The Social Network" along with
Josh Pence. Like Josh Hammer does not even
have his own website! I hope he has a Facebook page! Hammer was born
in Los Angeles, California, the son of Dru Ann (nee Mobley) and businessman Michael
Armand Hammer. His father owns several businesses, including Knoedler Publishing
and Hammer Productions (a film/television production company). His great-grandfather
was oil tycoon and philanthropist Armand Hammer, who was of Russian Jewish descent.
Hammer was raised on the Westside of Los Angeles and the Cayman Islands. As a child,
he also lived in Highland Park, a town in Dallas, for several years. He attended
Faulkner's Academy in Governor's Harbour, Cayman, Grace Christian Academy in the
Cayman Islands (a school founded by his father), and then later went to LA Baptist
High School in the San Fernando Valley. Hammer is married to television personality
Elizabeth Chambers.
Hammer played the Christian evangelist Billy Graham in
Billy: The Early Years which premiered in October 2008. The film garnered Hammer
a Faith and Values Award nomination in the Grace Award category, which is
awarded for the Most Inspiring Performance in Movie or Television. He played Harrison
Bergeron in 208, the film adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's short story by that name
which premiered at the Seattle International Film Festival.
In 200, Hammer
co-starred in David Fincher's The Social Network about the creation of Facebook,
portraying both the identical twins
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss.
He has also appeared in the television series Arrested Development, Veronica Mars,
Gossip Girl, and Desperate Housewives. He was hand-picked by filmmaker George Miller
after a long search to star in Justice League: Mortal as Batman/Bruce Wayne. The
film was to be directed by Miller, but he left the project. |
