This gallery features the beginning of some real giants. But
first, continued from the previous gallery are photos of handsome
Republican politician John Thune. Thune, (born 1961) is the junior
United States Senator from South Dakota and a member of the Republican
Party. He previously served as a United States Representative for South
Dakota's at-large congressional district. He will become South Dakota's
Senior senator with the retirement of Tim Johnson. Thune was born in the small town of Murdo, South Dakota. Thune was a star athlete in high school, and was active in basketball, track, and football and also played college basketball at Biola University. Thune remains athletically active and frequently competes in running events. A 2012 feature by "Runner's World Magazine" noted that Thune has "been the fastest man in Congress since 2009." After graduating from Biola University in California in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Thune received the degree of Master of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota in 1984. Jason Taylor, shown at left, is handsome enough to be a pro model, but he's a football player instead. Taylor (born 1974) is a former American football defensive end and linebacker who spent a majority of his career for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). Over the course of his 5-year career, Taylor played for the Dolphins on three separate occasions (1997–2007, 2009, 2010), and also played a season each for the Washington Redskins (2008) and New York Jets (2009). Taylor holds the sixth all-time career sacks record with 39.5 sacks, is the all-time leader in fumble return touchdowns with 6, while his 246 fumble return yards are the second highest total in NFL history. He officially announced his retirement on December 28, 20. Taylor was a four-year letterman and three-year starter for the University of Akron before being drafted in the third round, thirteenth pick (73rd overall), in the 1997 NFL Draft by Miami. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Taylor was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. Travis Lane Stork, MD (born 1972, in Fort Collins, Colorado) is an American emergency physician and television personality, best known for appearing on The Bachelor (blarf!), and as the host of the syndicated daytime talk show, The Doctors. Ordinarily a doctor that muscular, handsome rich and accomplished would have women swooning on him all the time. The fact that he would appear on a show like the Bachelor means he just can't get enough attention. Would you like your doctor to be taking calls from his agent while he is trying to stop you from bleeding to death through your external carotid artery? Stork graduated magna cum laude from Duke University with a degree in anthropology. He earned his M.D. from the University of Virginia. He completed his emergency medicine residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Before returning to Vanderbilt as a faculty physician, he worked as an attending physician at a private hospital in Colorado. Stork currently splits his time between Nashville and Los Angeles, where he hosts the syndicated television show The Doctors. On October 9, 2013 Dr. Stork joined tele health company MDLIVE as Chairman of its Medical Advisory Board. Stork has appeared as a guest on many shows, including The Talk, to discuss medical and health tips. He has also published a book, The Lean Belly Prescription. Stork appeared on Season 8 of The Bachelor. During the season finale of the show, Travis Stork chose schoolteacher Sarah Stone, who coincidentally lived only a few blocks away from his Nashville residence. How convenient. However, only one week after the show's pre-taped finale aired, the couple announced that their relationship was already over. What? They were only going through the motions to get attention?? Following The Bachelor, Stork appeared as a Crest toothpaste spokesperson for pregnant women even though he is not pregnant and his real teeth have been totally replaced with a titianium epoxy. He did an advertising campaign with Target Corporation, also marketed to pregnant women. Stork briefly dated singer Carrie Underwood in 2008. Stork wed his girlfriend of three years, pediatrician Charlotte Brown, on June 30, 2012. Aww, how sweet! Young medical droids in love! In 2009, he appeared as himself (what a stretch) in the medical drama Three Rivers. A more legit piece of show business is Blake Shelton, a man who did not go to med school but that's okay. He can actually sing and has NOT appeared on "The Bachelor!" Shelton (born 1976) is an American country music singer and television personality. In 2010, he made his debut with the single "Austin". The lead-off single from his self-titled debut album, "Austin" spent five weeks at Number One on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The gold-certified debut album also produced two more Top 20 hits. Although the album was released on Giant Records Nashville, he was transferred to Warner Bros. Records Nashville after Giant closed in late 2010. His second and third albums, 2003's The Dreamer and 2004's Blake Shelton's Barn & Grill, were each certified gold as well. His fourth album, Pure BS (2007), was re-issued in 2008 with a cover of Michael Bublé's pop hit "Home" as one of the bonus tracks. A fifth album, Startin' Fires, was released in November 2008. It was followed by the extended plays Hillbilly Bone and All About Tonight in 2010, and the albums Red River Blue in 2011 and Based on a True Story… in 2013. Overall, Blake Shelton has charted 24 country singles, including Number Ones. He has been nominated five times for a Grammy Award. Shelton is also known for his role as a judge on the televised singing competitions Nashville Star, Clash of the Choirs, and The Voice. He has been on The Voice since its inception, and three out of the six seasons (2–4) his teams have won. He is the husband of country singer Miranda Lambert. Finally a big thanks to the various aspiring and working models who let me use their photos from ModelMayhem.com . Where else could I find so many great photos of men who are both really tall and really handsome? Most people on it might not make much money doing acing or modeling but it's a great place to show off. And who knows? I get calls from casting directors looking for tall guys and I direct them there. You never know when you will find that unusual person you are looking for, such as a giant scary biker or a tall bodybuilder who is handsome. |
