![]() He grew up in Irving where he played football from a very young age. Lowe attended Kansas State University where he received a football scholarship and took part in a 2003 Big 2 Championship Game. Lowe graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science. How did he get on "The Bachelor?" Casting began during the airing of the sixteenth season of the show. First "The Bachelor" approached Tim Tebow, then-quarterback of the Denver Broncos; but he never signed an agreement. He claims he is a virgin. Lamar Hurd, a sportscaster from Portland, Oregon, had been another potential candidate, vying to become the first African-American "Bachelor." Other rumored possible candidates included The Bachelorette season 6 winner Roberto Martinez, Lowe's fellow The Bachelorette castmate Arie Luyendyk, Jr. (runner-up from Maynard's season), and eleven-time Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte. Luyendyk dropped out to focus on his racing career. Martinez and Lochte also declined. In addition to playing football, Lowe teamed up with Andrew Shull on their college football team, and Shull eventually married Lowe's sister. In his free time, Lowe works in the insurance industry. Following after The Bachelor, Lowe was a contestant on the ABC reality show Dancing with the Stars his partner was season 4 champion Peta Murgatroyd, and became the 2th and final celebrity to fill in the cast. Regardless, his lessons are now kaput; Lowe was eliminated from the show, coming in at a respectable sixth place overall. “I’ve enjoyed every second of it,” he said after the results were announced. “I’m truly blessed to have taken part in this, with all the stars; I’m still just a normal guy from Dallas. What an incredible opportunity.” Lowe is still engaged to Giudici and the wedding date has set on January 26, 2014. |
