Continued from the previous gallery, 6'4" (1.93m) Isaiah Mustafa (born 1974) is an American
actor and former NFL practice squad wide receiver. Mustafa is
widely known as the main character for a series of Old Spice TV
commercials, The Man Your Man Could Smell Like. Mustafa played basketball and ran track at Santa Clara High School in Oxnard, California. He did not play high school football, but he tried out for Moorpark College's football team hoping for an athletic scholarship; he became a free safety, later becoming a wide receiver. After transferring to Arizona State University in 1995, Mustafa was a starting wide receiver for the Arizona State Sun Devils but had an unspecified "confrontation" with a coach and was benched his senior year. Mustafa played during the 1997 Rose Bowl between the then-undefeated Sun Devils (led by Mustafa's friend Jake Plummer) and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Although Mustafa expected to become a high school teacher after graduation, a sports agent suggested that he try out for NFL teams. The Tennessee Oilers signed him to the practice squad, then sent him to NFL Europe's Barcelona Dragons in 998. After a season on the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns' practice squads in 1999, he attended the Seattle Seahawks' training camp in 2000. After the Seahawks, Mustafa pursued an acting career, playing small character roles on various television programs. He gained sudden fame in February 2010 as the result of the popular The Man Your Man Could Smell Like advertising campaign for Old Spice, which featured his monologues. Mustafa's first commercial in the series was directed by Tom Kuntz. Subsequently, a three-day session created a series of humorous, personalized YouTube videos, with Mustafa reprising the character from the original Old Spice commercial. These were directed at members of the public and celebrities, who had asked him questions on websites such as reddit, Facebook and Twitter. On July 26, 2010, Old Spice launched a new campaign on YouTube featuring a challenge between Isaiah Mustafa and Fabio entitled Mano a Mano in el Baño. Mustafa said he wasn't worried, even though Fabio has been "the epitome of the sex symbol as a pitchman." Mustafa emerged as the winner. Mustafa signed a talent deal with NBC and appeared in the film Horrible Bosses. He hosted the TBS special Funniest Commercials of the Year for both 2010 and 2011. He has also appeared as a guest panelist on the popular late-night talk show Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld. 6'4" James Scott (born 1979) is a British actor. He is best known for playing E.J. DiMera on the long-running NBC drama Days of our Lives. Scott began his career working in the music industry, and later started acting in community theatre. After only a few weeks in London, Scott was spotted by the Storm Model Management agency in London, home to Kate Moss, Elle Macpherson, and other prominent models. Modeling allowed him to earn enough money to put himself through school. After looking through many of London's excellent and prestigious acting academies he applied for, and was accepted to, The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). "I didn't always want to be an actor but I always knew I would be. Just a feeling that has lived within me from my earliest childhood memories." As time went on, he began to model for clothing companies. During a modeling trip to Los Angeles, he went to an acting class at the Ivana Chubbuck studio in Hollywood. The class inspired him to save money and make the move to Los Angeles. He studied acting for two more years before being cast on All My Children. Scott originated the role of Ethan Cambias in August 2004 and played it until February 2006. He has since moved on to Days of our Lives where he took on the role of EJ DiMera in May 2006 . Male model handsome 6'5" (1.95m) Joseph "Joe" Patrick Mauer (born 1983) is an American baseball catcher and first baseman in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins. He is the only catcher in MLB history to win three batting titles. He also won three consecutive Gold Glove awards (2008–2010), and the 2009 American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award. Mauer ultimately turned down a football scholarship from Florida State University to enter the Major League Baseball Draft. Mauer was selected by the Twins as the first overall pick of the 200 draft, ahead of college pitcher Mark Prior, who was taken second overall by the Chicago Cubs. Mauer was part of the United States' roster at the 2003 All-Star Futures Game at U.S. Cellular Field before being promoted to the Twins' roster in 2004 after his predecessor, A. J. Pierzynski, was traded to the San Francisco Giants, in the 2003 offseason. Mauer went 2-for-3 in his Major League debut, hitting a single off Rafael Betancourt of the Cleveland Indians for his first major-league hit. A knee injury to his left medial meniscus on April 7, 2004, required surgery and sidelined Mauer for more than a month. After a rehabilitation stint with the Twins' AAA affiliate Rochester Red Wings, Mauer returned to the Twins' lineup in June. In July, pain and swelling in his knee forced an early end to Mauer's 2004 season. Following his injury-shortened 2004, Mauer signed a contract for $5.7 million with the Twins on January 24, 2005. In 2005, Mauer returned to the Twins' lineup for his first full major league season and had 44 hits in 3 games, with 9 home runs and 55 RBI. He ended the year with an average of .294. Mauer modeled for Perry Ellis in the 2004–05 off-season, and is featured in television commercials for Head & Shoulders, Pepsi, ESPN, Fox Sports Net, PlayStation 3, Gatorade and my29. Mauer's Quickswing Camp is held annually in the winter at a St. Paul area college. The camp teaches youth the basics of batting skills. Mauer taped an episode of Homecoming with Rick Reilly for ESPN on January 27, 200 at Cretin-Derham Hall High School, his alma mater, in St. Paul, Minnesota. The episode aired on April 2, 2010. Per Mertesacker (born 1984) is a German footballer who plays as a defender for Arsenal and the German national football team. Mertesacker is a youth product of Hannover 96 and he made his senior league debut in November 2003. Mertesacker was soon dubbed "the Defence Pole" (die Abwehrlatte) by German tabloids and gained a reputation for his good disciplinary record and went 3 Bundesliga games without being booked.Since joining Arsenal, their fans have nicknamed him the BFG, short for 'Big Fucking German', but also alluding to Roald Dahl's The BFG due to his height. He is described as an imposing, reliable, dominant and an accomplished defender. 6'6" (1.98m) Mertesacker married German international handballer handballer Ulrike Stange in June 2013 and they have a son Paul (born April 2010). In November 2006, Mertesacker created the "Per Mertesacker Foundation", initially to support the family of his former Hannover and Germany teammate Robert Enke, and is targeted at those suffering from depression. Since 2007 the foundation has organised yearly charity football matches which has featured Mertesacker's national and club teammates Philipp Lahm, Lukas Podolski and Tomáš Rosický as well as comedian Oliver Pocher, Fury in the Slaughterhouse member Rainer Schumann and German ice hockey legend Uwe Krupp. In November 2013, Mertesacker teamed up with German brand SpielRaum to sell T-Shirts, inspired by his own chant "Big F****** German", with some of the money raised going to his charity foundation. ISAIAH MUSTAFA OLD SPICE COMMERCIAL |
This is one of the goofy Old Spice commercials that revitalized a
tired brand and spawned a river of imitators. This provided all
kinds of jobs for shirtless, hunky actors like Anderson Davis.
