Peter
Fields returns to the Roughnecks for his third season as he looks to continue
an already impressive indoor football career. The Great Britain native was
scouted by the Roughnecks at the John Lestini Group Free Agent Tryout held
in Mobile, Alabama during Senior Bowl Week in January of 2008. In his first
season with the Roughnecks in 2008 Fields played in 14 games total (12 regular,
two post-season). During that time he supplied protection for starting QB
Dennis Gile, registered four total tackles including 1.0 TFL on defense
and caught a six-yard touchdown pass on offense. Fields capped off his first
season with the Roughnecks by being named to the IFL (Intense) All-Star
Team.
In 2009, Fields played and started in 11 games for the Roughnecks
on the offensive line. Throughout the season Fields provided protection
in the passing game and opened up holes for the running game. Defensively,
Fields registered 2.5 total tackles including 1.5 TFL. Just this past off-season,
Fields held private workouts with NFL teams such as the Green Bay Packers,
Atlanta Falcons and the Miami Dolphins. He has additionally been scouted
by several UFL teams. |
